Julie Carter, BSW, MSW, RSW
I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers, and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. I have a Bachelor's of Social Work from Laurentian University and a Master's of Social Work from McGill University. I have also partially completed a PhD in Social Work from the University of Windsor.
I have worked for over 20 years providing social work services to children and families. During this time, I have worked with children and families in various capacities including as a private practice therapist. I draw on various models of therapy, so that the treatment approach is suitable and unique to you. My primary focus is forming a trusting relationship with the client and creating a climate of hope. I use mindfulness and meditations techniques to assist my clients to bring awareness into the present moment and get in touch with their authentic selves. Additionally, I offer the option of Walk and Talk Therapy as I believe in the benefits of mind and body healing and because not everyone is interested in seeing me in a traditional office setting. I also offer Clinical Hypnotherapy.
