Walk and Talk
Some people get anxious or just don't like confronting something difficult in traditional seated therapy. Walk and talk has many benefits including.
-
It encourages more physical activity for mental and physical health.
-
It helps people get "unstuck" when confronting difficult issues.
-
It spurs creative, deeper ways of thinking, often released by mood-improving physical activity.
-
it provides visual distractions which can allow easier engagement.
You can also bring your dog along for the walk!
Intensive Therapy
Traditional therapy is usually hour-long sessions, weekly or monthly, and provides long-term support to work through healing at a steady pace. Often with traditional therapy, the issues covered one week can get watered down in our minds before the next session making it harder to gain the momentum to fully address some issues.
In contrast, Intensive therapy provides intense, focused, and short-term therapy. These longer or more frequent treatments accelerate recovery by allowing the time and consistency to dig deep into your struggles and find individualized solutions to continue healing.
Some issues – such as addiction, trauma, or depression – can be treated more effectively with intensive sessions.
